Position Title: Director of Children’s Ministries

Reports to: Lead Pastor

Position Summary

Looking for an individual who will lead the bKids Ministry (Children’s Ministry) of Bara Church. This person will help Bara children and their friends know who Jesus is and equip families to help foster their children’s relationship with Him. This person must be ready to go beyond face value, share Bara’s core values, share Jesus and build relationships with families to help facilitate their spiritual growth. The Director of Children’s Ministries will work approximately 20 hours per week and will report directly to the Lead Pastor.

The bKids Director of Bara Church gets to participate in the following Jesus work:

1. Build relationships with local families

2. Check in on families and children throughout the week

3. Ensure that curriculum follows core beliefs

4. Participate in church events and engage with children and families

5. Evaluate, select, and prepare the next series of lessons and experiences- this includes preparing and buying supplies for lessons and said experiences

6. Greet Families and Teach lesson on Sunday mornings 

7. Create Family Sunday binders for students that pertain to the sermon (4 times a year)

8. Create “Children’s time” sermon that correlates to sermon for Family Sunday (4 times a year)

9. Recruit teachers and create schedules

10. Promote bKids via text and social media

Other Key Responsibilities:

1. Communicate with leadership weekly

2. Staff meeting that will occur weekly

3. Order Background Checks

4. Review and submit ministry budget annually

5. Purchase and submit receipts for supplies for children related ministry needs

6. Maintain ministry budget

7. Track work hours

Attributes and Qualifications:

1. Loves Jesus and aligns with the mission, vision and values of Bara Church

2. A desire to know people/children where they’re at

3. Positive attitude 

4. Servant heart

5. Previous Experience in roles teaching children

6. An understanding of the different developmental stages of children

7. The ability to be flexible and to be a problem solver

8. Technologically proficient

Standards: Position-Specific

1. Communicate clearly with volunteers and staff in a way that represents Christ

2. Be present at a minimum of 48 Sunday gatherings per calendar year

3. Populate staff meetings agendas in advance

4. Request permission to make expenditures that fall outside of the ministry budget

Company-Wide

1. All work will be performed in the spirit of Bara’s mission, vision, and core commitments

2. All proprietary company information will be held as strictly confidential outside the company

3. Leadership will be notified in a timely manner of any pertinent ministry issues that arise including but not limited to accusations of abuse, conflicts that cannot be resolved, etc.

Compensation:

This position is part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, with a competitive hourly wage ranging from $22 to $28, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Opportunities for advancement may be available based on performance and demonstrated leadership capabilities.

Position Title: Director of Student Ministries

Reports to: Lead Pastor

Position Summary

Bara Church is seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to serve as the Part-Time Director of Student Ministries. This individual will lead and oversee our ministry to students, cultivating an environment where students can grow in their relationship with Christ and be equipped to make Him known. The Director of Student Ministries will work approximately 20 hours per week and will report directly to the Lead Pastor.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement a comprehensive vision and strategy for student ministries that aligns with the mission and values of the church.

2. Provide leadership and oversight to all aspects of student ministries, including weekly gatherings, discipleship groups, special events, and outreach initiatives.

3. Recruit, train, and equip volunteer leaders to effectively serve in various capacities within the student ministry.

4. Build meaningful relationships with students and their families, providing pastoral care, spiritual guidance, and support as needed.

5. Create engaging and relevant teaching curriculum for student gatherings, focusing on topics that enhance the spiritual growth and development of students.

6. Foster a safe and welcoming environment where students feel valued, accepted, and encouraged to explore their faith.

7. Collaborate with other ministry leaders and staff members to integrate students into the broader life of the church community. Create a student presence in Bara Sunday Gatherings.

8. Communicate regularly with students and parents/guardians, keeping them informed about upcoming events, ministry updates, and opportunities for involvement.

9. Manage the student ministry budget responsibly, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to support ministry initiatives and activities.

10. Stay current with trends and best practices in student ministry, seeking opportunities for professional development and growth.

Qualifications:

1. A belief that Jesus Christ is the son of God and died for our sins with a dedication to practicing spiritual disciplines.

2. A commitment to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for sharing the Gospel with students.

3. A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in student ministry leadership or a related field.

4. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with students, volunteers, and parents.

5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate the vision and values of the student ministry clearly and effectively.

6. A collaborative spirit, with the ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive and supportive ministry environment.

7. Organizational and administrative abilities, with the capacity to plan, coordinate, and execute ministry events and activities.

8. Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to adjust plans and strategies as needed to meet the changing needs of students and the ministry.

9. Proactively initiate and organize activities, identifying and implementing improvements in processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of ministry initiatives.

10. A teachable spirit and a commitment to personal and professional growth.
